The Queen of Silks – an interview with Fiona Stolze

Here at Wilder Street we’re lucky enough to have a series of beautiful silk paintings gracing our walls, all by silk mandala artistFiona Stolze. Here Fiona tells me in detail about her inspirations and practice.

Penny –  Have you had any kind of formal art education? If so, how did it go?
What are your views on art education?

Fiona – I’m actually a self taught artist Penny. I’ve always been very arty and
loved to paint and be really creative.

Time for a Catch Up.

Mmmmm - Cake.

It’s nearly Christmas, but all is still busy as the proverbial buzzing insect at PTC. We’ve been quiet for a few weeks, working on a large-scale research project, but now we’re back in action with blogging and copywriting happening aplently. We’re very much enjoying working with our lovely regulars at Art2Arts, Cititec, Citywire, Bristol Life Drawing, and MySocialAgency and of course, we love blogging for Wilder St Studio, which is the PTC headquarters. Watch the blog for more interviews with Wilder St yoga teachers and artists, all coming soon.

There are two big, exciting bits of news that we’re feeling rather smiley about. First of all, the Figurative Art  blog is undergoing some major changes which you can expect to see emerge over Christmas. We’ve also begun work with a new blogger, Lirazelf - you can see the excellent job she did in interviewing artist Katy Sullivan.  Expect lots more from her over the coming months.

The second exiting piece of news is that we’re about to publish full web copy and regular blog and social media updates for a rather fabulous luxury holiday cottage organisation. We’ll post updates in the new year when it’s all done.

Wishing you an artful festive season and a copy-tastic New Year.

PTC xx

What we’re up to at the moment :)

Autumn has well and truly begun to fall, and PTC is super busy with copywriter and SEO writer services in particular.

I’m doing lots of blogging and writing static articles for Art2Arts. These posts are all about contemporary art in the UK. I’m outlining exhibitions and galleries, along with explaining modern art styles and introducing readers to some exciting and cutting-edge artists. PTC’s blog, Figurative Art, continues to showcase interviews with internationally known artists. Following my recent chat with colourful illustrator Eduardo Bertone, the next insightful artist interviews to go up are with painters Katy Sullivan and Francoise Nielly.

I’m also being a weekly blog writer for MySocialAgency, writing on trends and developments in social media and the digital world.

As well as this, PTC has been working on copy for Cititec’s Singapore brochure, as well as some research for Citywire, along with editing and transcription for a range of individual clients.

To round off September nicely, we’re about to embark on writing full copy for a new luxury spa website, as well as developing their social media campaign. Watch this spa! I mean space.

Oh and as if that wasn’t enough, I’m also organising Bristol Jelly, a free co-working event, held at the uber-cool Deckchair Creative Agency.

Until next month,

Penny x
